My best experience at Appleton West High School was during the yearly Asian Heritage Night where many Asian-Americans from different areas of Wisconsin would come together and join an event full of dancing and singing. My worst experience at Appleton West High School was during the bad winter school days when everything was hard to see in the distance due to the thick snow, and it was dangerous for both drivers and students.
Appleton West provides a safe and welcoming space to be yourself. This school also provides equal opportunity for each student to succeed.
Appleton West provides a variety of extracurriculars and clubs but lacks the ability to prepare its students for college. For example, the teaching methods employed by these schools lack engagement and independent learning.
Appleton West High School is a great place for high school students. I personally like this school because the teachers there were nice and the school overall shows spirit. Every one is nice and friendly, they’re willing to help and lift one another up instead of letting someone down. Not only that, but the school is diverse as well. Ranging students from the Asia, Africa, and even Europe. No one there ever feels like they’re excluded because they include everyone. A lot of things I’ve learned from this experience is that just by doing something so little for someone can effect their life by a mile. A smile can change many faces around me and that inspires me to help everyone and lift everyone up. Because in life, it gets tough and difficult. If we all help each other, that makes things less difficult even at this age. You never know what anyone could be going through. The one thing I’d like to see change is the technology use, because everyone seems to be focusing a lot more.
